The Great War and the shaping of the 20th century

  • PBS commissioned a television series and a website on World War I.  The website includes an interactive timeline.
  • If you have the  Real Audio plug in, you can listen to Franklin Roosevelt's speech on December 7, 1941, "a day that will live in infamy."  You will need the Real Audio player to listen.  If you don't have Real Audio, get it here.

  • The past comes alive on The History Channel.  Their web page is contains many great links.  Check back often because the web page is always changing.

  • The Harry S. Truman Library holds the Presidential papers of Harry S. Truman, several other collections of his papers documenting his life and career before and after the Presidency, and more than 400 other manuscript collections related to his career. The library also has large collections of audiovisual materials, books, articles, and other printed items, oral history interviews, and museum objects.
  • The Franklin D. Roosevelt Cartoon Archive.  This site contains political cartoons from the presidency of Franklin D. Roosevelt. This preservation project is a cooperative venture of the AP Computer Math class and the AP United States History classes at Niskayuna High School.
